Hello, classmates! I am writer, and I like to design websites. I teach creative writing at the University of Pennsylvania, the same university that brings us Professor Ulrich’s course through Coursera. I wanted to take this class because I’m fascinated with design– and yet working with actual objects is a little out of my comfort zone. I’m also interested in learning more about online communities and online learning.

Here’s a sample of a website I designed for my daughter, a glass artist: www.madhotglass.com, and here’s a link to a literary magazine that I edit and publish: www.cleavermagazine.com. Designing the magazine was a big challenge. I certainly went through many iterations, just as Professor Ulrich talks about in Lecture 1d.
